Canberra Show, 2013.



The ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show will be held from the 22nd to the 24th February, 2013 at Exhibition Park in Canberra, ACT, Australia.



This merino wool and silk vest is entered in the hand felted original item for the body, class in the Professional section of the Crafts Expo. It was begun in a workshop with Raewyn Penrose from New Zealand, and then finished with hand stitching, fitting and shaping.
Originally made in response to the current exhibition of works by Henri-Toulouse Lautrec showing at the National Gallery of Australia, this hand felted merino wool beret with detachable crochet wool rose brooch, will be entered in the Hand felted original item for the head, class.
To be on show in the class for Any other hand felted item, will be this hand woven and felted merino wool tote. It is machine stitched with leather handles and trims.

I was awarded two firsts, for the vest and the tote, as well as Reserve Champion in the Professional Category for the tote!
Checking now for results of the Sydney Show!
