A scarf to coordinate with Carla's Autumn colours



Began with tissue silk in ecru and a variegated dyed wool by Martien van Zuilen.


Finished scarf with machine stitched grid.

One thing leads to another...


Used an acrylic paint applied with a foam roller, collages with shapes cut from rice paper as a starting point, added silk and wool from the stash, and...

Going up the Hill.

Two fronts and the back of a vest in the process of being made for The Queanbeyan City Council Regional Art Awards 2013.
Reflecting on the theme of "Aspects of Queanbeyan's Heritage", the handmade fabric refers to building features and the times at which these were added to the landscape.

Remember when...

The Blue Pole has been assembled using pieces of hand made felt in a variety of designs and colours from more than ten feltmakers.

The team of two which put it together decided to add some bogong moths to the overall layout.

Canberra Show, 2013.



The ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show will be held from the 22nd to the 24th February, 2013 at Exhibition Park in Canberra, ACT, Australia.



This merino wool and silk vest is entered in the hand felted original item for the body, class in the Professional section of the Crafts Expo. It was begun in a workshop with Raewyn Penrose from New Zealand, and then finished with hand stitching, fitting and shaping.
Originally made in response to the current exhibition of works by Henri-Toulouse Lautrec showing at the National Gallery of Australia, this hand felted merino wool beret with detachable crochet wool rose brooch, will be entered in the Hand felted original item for the head, class.
To be on show in the class for Any other hand felted item, will be this hand woven and felted merino wool tote. It is machine stitched with leather handles and trims.

Blue Pole

To celebrate the Cenenary of Canberra, Canberra Region Feltmakers plans to construct an outdoor artwork to be on show at Strathnairn Gallery.
A number of groups have been formed to felt pieces in different colours to wrap poles which will then be placed together.
