The Opening

Leaving a Trace - Blackwood created some interest at the opening of the Rapt in Felt Exhibition. There was some discussion of the texture created by the use of a mixture of silk and wool roving on a tissue silk backing, as well as the fine weight of the fabric.

This piece sold during the exhibition.

Thanks to Kelly, Leslie, Lisa and Sarah for traveling some distance to share in the excitement.

It was great to meet up with friends, Martine and Michelle, not seen for too long.

For the Bazaar

Oak and Walnut is a hand felted merino wool and tissue silk scarf which was first bundled and dyed with fallen oak leaves and later immersed in a dye bath of soaked black walnuts.

It will be available in the Bazaar at the Rapt in Felt Exhibition next weekend in Canberra.

Rapt in Felt Fashion Parade

This jacket, hand felted with merino wool, a selection of polyester fabrics and crochet cotton squares, will be shown in the Fashion Parades at the Rapt in Felt Exhibition on Saturday, 26th and Sunday, 27th May at the CSIRO Discovery Centre in Canberra.

Individual pieces of felted fabric were pieced together to create the garment in a workshop with Kitty Chung O'Kane from Melbourne.

It was a pleasure to see neighbours, Gail, Maggie and Sandra who came to view the exhibition and fashion parade on Sunday.
