The photo shows a sample of crochet coral models produced by the group, Hyperbolic - Bloom in Canberra, of which Lis was a contributor.
Workshops like this were held around the country and the final installation at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney incorporates almost a thousand models of coral, kelp, sea slugs and anemones in material ranging from wool to plastic bags and fibre-optic cables, produced by more than 300 people.
The installation weaves art and community craft together with environmental activism and marine biology and runs until August 30th.
